Type of Cotton
The quality of cotton is based on the length of its staple or fiber. Longer cotton fibers/staples are stronger, softer, more absorbent, and more durable.
Luxury: Micro cotton is processed cotton fibers. The cotton fibers are spun and combed to produce a thin yarn which creates an extremely soft and ultra absorbent towel.
Best: Egyptian cotton has the longest and strongest fiber, which produces the softest towels and is super absorbent.
Better: Supima cotton is grown in the United States. It is a long staple/fiber cotton, which produces a soft, super absorbent, very strong and daily was durable towel.
Good: Combed cotton is processed cotton fiber that produces soft, absorbent and daily wash durable towels.
Type of Towel
Terry Towels- A towel that has terry loops
Velour Towels- Towels where the loop is sheered off to create a soft finish.
Print Towels- A towel with woven patterns or designs printed directly on the surface.
Jacquard Towels- Towels created by weaving different color threads together to create a permanent pattern or design.
Embellished Towels- A towel with decorative embroidery or lace, primarily used for decoration.
Size
The most common sizes include bath, hand and wash.
Special Sizes include: Bath sheet- A luxury sized towel, larger than a standard bath towel.
Oversized/ Super-sized- These extra large bath towels are larger than a standard bath towel, but not as large as a bath sheet.
Fingertip- A small towel, used mainly in guest bathrooms and trimmed with fringe.
